Just a little off the sides

They say the 3rd time's a charm. This is what happens when a certain darling is left unsupervised with scissors. If you saw her last pictures from October or Christmas, you know her hair was several inches below her shoulders, and really pretty.

Now her bangs are 1" at the longest, and the back is at her collar. The chops she made in the side and back had to be cut into layers to make it look planned. Overall, it isn't too bad, but will still take a couple of months to grow out enough to even it up in a few places.
And this is the 3rd time she has cut her own hair. We moved the scissors up high after the first time, she found them and we hid them again the 2nd time. This time she was at church, and there was a pair lying in the ladies room. What's a Mom to do!!!!!

Now we're getting somewhere

You know that feeling you get when there is soooo much to do and you can't do any of it? Well, I think we are finally doing something. Last week Mike's cousin was out here finishing the tape/mud on the drywall downstairs. A good vaccuum and about a dozen rags to dust everything down and we can start painting. Well, right after the ceiling is plastered. But that is still great!

And the bathroom has plumbing, and now that the walls are up, it can be finished so the vanity and stool go in next. Then more paint! Woo Hoo!

And while that is "in process", we got the laminate wood floor for the kitchen and started on it. The original linoleum was damaged when the dishwasher installers drug the diswasher over it leaving a long gouge. Of course that wasn't acceptable, so we told the builder to fix it. We thought they did, but instead, we just found out that the laid a 2nd layer of linoleum ON TOP OF the first! Naughty, naughty!! S o we have to pull up both layers to lay the new floor. Yes it is a pain, but fortunately it is going pretty easy. This is the beginning. Hope to have the after pics by the end of the weekend.
(Note to self: never have a kitchen/bath/room with linoleum again. It is terrible stuff!)

This is the bath in progress, and our nice - almost ready for paint - basement.

Today Apache crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She was 17 years old, and my "baby". Her illness had been accelerating and I knew last night it would not be long. Good night sweetie. Rest peacefully.

I'm baaack.

Actually, I have been back for a week. Sometimes it just takes longer than others to catch up. The trip was ok. Nothing great, nothing dreadful, just ok. I never adjusted to being on the opposite side of the globe - my clock didn't synch up, and to add to it that we were working hours that fit the UK, I was doomed. So 3 hours of sleep per night, some of the scariest cab rides you can imagine, and anything except American food - I was a little glad to be home.

Ok, a LOT glad to be home. But the training went well, in fact we covered more than expected. But still sooooo much to do.

I did not take pictures - really nothing to take pictures of since my time was either at the hotel or the office. And in-between was nothing to write home about. I did get to shop on Saturday in the markets and got some nice gifts for people.

Enough about work. I will update on family and our moving efforts soon. TTFN!
