A little Christmas fun

Doesn't it sometimes seem like the few days after Christmas are a bit of a letdown?  All the build-up and excitement leading to "the day" and then you are left with the work of dissassembling and putting away the decorations, tree, and festive spirit.

Well, that will come soon enough, but we managed to extend our fun and holiday spirit a little longer.  Here are just a few pictures from this year!

We are so blessed by such a wonderful family, and all that God has provided. 1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

Our trip to NASA

While we didn't actually make it to the NASA tour, we did visit Johnson Space Center this week. The kids really had fun with all the hands-on activities, and especially the giant play station. It's a good thing there were benches where the adults could rest!

Holley's favorite part was being Mission Control and talking to someone on the other side.
They tried on space helmets, and maneuvered a "floating" chair while pushing control buttons to complete a mission.
And my very favorite picture of all, the drive home...

Sing Praise!

"But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. For today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:10-11 NIV).

You know what is cool?

Prayer in school.

We went to Holley's 1st grade class play tonight (all 6 first grade classes), and before everything got started, we said the Pledge of Allegiance, the Pledge to the Texas Flag, and then the principal led everyone in prayer.  You can't do that in Kansas.

Funny, Mike was talking to some guys from church at the BBQ/Chili cookoff last weekend (did I mention he took first place chili and 2nd place open category with grilled asparagus?!) and they were explaining that around here (here being Texas), there is no separation of church and school, don't even mention it.  Prayer is supported from the administration level onward.

How cool is that?

Does your cat do this?

Remember Jasper? He is quite the comedian. They do this every day and he will bring the mouse to you when it is time to play.

What a sweetie.
